When it’s time to give your home a fresh new look – whether for resale, or just to increase your own quality of life – there’s no better place to begin than in the kitchen. Traditionally – and usually physically as well – the center of the house, kitchen remodel a kitchen usually provides between 75-80% return on investment within the first year, in terms of a home’s resale price. Remodeling has many non-financial benefits as well – not having to look at formica counters, for example, or never again having to stretch to reach the pots stored in an ill-designed cabinet.
“A lot of turn of the century homes,” says Scott Field, a remodeler who specializes in older homes, “don’t have a lot of cabinets, but have lots of wall space, lots of room, and can be made a lot more functional with a better layout.”
Scott Field has been involved with do-it-yourself projects all of his adult life. From fixing up his own home, to fixing the homes of friends and family, he has felt great personal satisfaction helping improve not only the quality of people’s homes, but their quality of life. After years of various positions involving project management of all kinds, Field opened Kitchen Tune-Up in Denver, servicing North Denver, Washington Park and Cherry Creek.
“It’s a buyer’s market in Denver,” said Field. “Homes for sale need to be updated and look better than what is already on the market.”
Along with providing design services, Field’s company – Kitchen Tune-Up – offers a whole suite of remodeling and refacing services that allow for this transformation at a fraction of the time and cost associated with full remodels. Standing in a newly updated kitchen, Field explains, “by refacing these cabinets, the job was finished in about four and a half days – rather than four and a half weeks. It also cost about half as much as replacing the cabinets.”
“Honesty and integrity are not just words but a way of life,” said Field, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. “Most people do not expect their contractor to be highly educated with years of experience in program management and consulting. I use my talents and assets to provide the utmost quality service and the best finished product. We offer level quotes, and we’ll talk to you before we start doing something. That’s the way I’d want to be treated.”
Along with wood reconditioning and refacing, Kitchen Tune-Up offers services for sandless floor refinishing, bathroom remodelling, and custom cabinets.
